The Office Canvas is the center panel of Pentagon’s three-panel layout. It is a 2D grid workspace where every agent appears as a desk and pods appear as colored rugs.

Grid System

The canvas uses a fixed grid with a cell size of 60 points. All agent desks and pod boundaries snap to this grid, keeping the layout clean and aligned. The grid extends infinitely in all directions — scroll or pan to reach any area.

Agent Desks

Each agent is represented by a desk on the grid. A desk displays:
  • Status ring — a colored border indicating the agent’s current state (green for Ready, yellow for Active, red for Error, gray for Dormant)
  • Initials badge — the first two characters of the agent’s name
  • Agent color — a unique color derived from the agent’s identity
  • Clone indicators+ marks on adjacent empty cells for quick cloning
Click a desk to select it and open the Detail Panel. Double-click to focus the terminal.

Pods

Pods appear as colored rectangular regions behind the grid — like rugs on a floor. Any agent desk placed within a pod’s bounds automatically belongs to that pod. Draw new pods with the Pod tool. See Pods & Teams for details on how pods work.

Minimap

A minimap in the bottom-right corner shows an overview of all agents and pods across the entire canvas. A cyan rectangle indicates your current viewport. Below the minimap, - and + buttons provide click-based zoom control.

Canvas Tools

The toolbar in the bottom-left corner of the canvas provides two modes:
ToolIconBehavior
SelectCursorDefault mode. Click desks to select agents, click empty cells to open the spawn dialog, drag on empty space to pan.
PodDashed rectangleClick and drag to draw a new pod region on the canvas. Release to set the pod’s bounds, then name and color it.
A New Team button is also available in the toolbar for creating logical team groupings (teams are non-spatial — see Pods & Teams). Switch between tools by clicking the toolbar icons or using keyboard shortcuts.

Empty State

When no agents exist yet, the canvas displays a prompt guiding you to click any cell to spawn your first agent.
